The Aosta Valley triumphs in the women's Under 16 slalom, titles also for the Slovenian Oserban, the German Illig and the Finnish Timonen.

On the podiums of the first day at the international level of the 51st edition of the AlpeCimbra FIS Children Cup, there is a flutter of different colors. The tricolor of the Aosta Valley Giorgia Collomb in the students slalom, the white, blue and red of the Slovenian Miha Oserban in the challenge between the male rapid gates, the black, red and gold of the German Luisa Illig in the under 14 female giant and the white with the blue cross by Finnish Samu Timonen in the men's giant boys.
And for the Italy team it was a very positive first act, given that there are five podiums overall. In addition to the Collomb, the Piedmontese Lara Colturi, still in the slalom students, scores a silver comeback after a first heat with a serious error, so they reach a second and a third place in the giant girls thanks to Anna Trocker and Victoria Klotz. Finally, a silver with the gritty Lecco from Malgrate, Giulio Paolo Cazzaniga. In Fondo Grande, four hard-fought races were staged, held on the Martinella Nord track, theater of the special slalom, and on the Agonistic track, which hosted the challenge in the single under 14 giant round.
Certainly the most adrenaline-pumping race was that of the slalom, with the two blue collombs and Colturi capable of an exciting comeback. At the end of the first run the Aosta Valley was fourth and the Piedmontese sixth, the first capable of registering the second best time of the second heat, the daughter of art instead the best performance in the decisive descent. Collomb finished exulting with a time of 1 '' 28 "18, ahead of her compatriot by 28 cents, so at 45 cents here is the Austrian Maja Waroschitz, leading halfway through the race, at 69 cents the German Laila Illig (third after the first heat), while Romy Ertl (daughter of the great German champion) went out in the second heat, after having set the second best time in the middle of the race. Good comeback also for Nadine Trocker of Seiser Alm, sixth in the final standings.
In the men's field, the Slovenian Miha Oserban has shown that he already has an important maturity, winning the first heat and administering the advantage in the second. Silver for the Finnish Felix Maksimow, then third the German David Sachsenmaier. Second heat to forget instead for the Milanese Edoardo Simonelli: second halfway through the race with a gap of 30 cents from the leader, in the final stage he made too many mistakes and then finished tenth. Badiota David Castlunger did better than him, while Andrea Francesco Armari from Trentino finished eleventh and Pietro Mazzoleni from Genoa twelfth. Fifteenth, then, the Vermigliano Mirko Focher.
In the only round of the under 14 giant, the talented German Luisa Illig left all her opponents behind, interpreting the steep race track with determination. Silver at 27 cents for Anna Trocker, then third at 64 cents for Victoria Klotz from Bolzano. Positive also the performance of the other two blue Beatrice Mazzoleni, fifth, and of the thirty Lavinia Paci, sixth. On the other hand, 95 cents separated the gritty Finnish Samu Timonendal from Lecco Giulio Paolo Cazzaniga, who managed to keep the silver for only one cent compared to the Slovenian Lan Vezovnik. Just off the podium an all-Italian trio, made up of Christian Kostner from Val Gardena, Kejvin Koni from Trentino and Mattia Valente from Ampezzano.
Tomorrow the last day of the prestigious event organized by the Tts Ski Club in collaboration with the Apt Alpe Cimbra and for the technical aspect with the Alpe Cimbra Ski Team, with 31 nations from 4 continents competing. On the program the special slalom for kids and the giant pupils. Both competitions will be in double heat, with the first competitor starting at 9 am. At the end of the intense day of challenges, both the best score nation and the one that triumphed in the medal table will be awarded.
