The champion of the blue avalanche resigned, one year early, with respect to the conclusion of the mandate leading the historic Piedmontese association

It is one of the historical realities of the ski movement, born in the early twentieth century as the Piedmontese station of the same name. The members of the Sci Club Sauze d''Oulx meeting confirmed on Saturday the rotation of the association, taking note of the resignation as president of Piero Gros, the champion of the blue avalanche who was leading the ski club of his country since 2012. The heir? Another symbol of the blue ski, Barbara Merlin, for a handover in the sign of continuity, even if one year earlier than the natural expiry of the mandate. "The passion and love for this sport - the words of Gros - led me to lead the Ski Club for 7 years, bringing it back to the place it deserves, thanks to everyone's commitment and the financial help of many sponsor friends. Now I think the time has come to pass the hand and I thank Barbara Merlin who has made herself available to take my place and I think she is definitely the right person as a former athlete, mother, entrepreneur and, not least, a lover of our country " . The Merlin, two podiums in the World Cup and on the track in three different Olympics, is enthusiastic about the new assignment: "It is a new beginning, but with the same passion as always. Thanks to the people who believed in me and our group. All together on the track to give our best for our children ".
