What a challenge for the FIS presidency: Urs Lehmann has made his candidacy official

Lehmann, 51 years old on 1st April and champion of the descent to Morioka in the 1993 World Cup, has been a Swiss-Ski guide since 2008 and has brought the red and blue at least close to the glories of the 80s, removing after more than thirty years of Austrian domination Nations Cup to the "enemies" of the Wunderteam. Should he make it, he would be the third Swiss president of the FIS who, since 1951, has been led by a representative of Switzerland after the 47 years of Marc Hodler (from 1951 to 1998) at the head of the international federation, followed by the 22 of Gianfranco Kasper who will leave the helm at the next congress. Other candidates besides Lehmann and Eliasch? Probably that of the current secretary general of the FIS, the British Sarah Lewis, and of another Swede, Mats Arjes, outgoing vice president of the same international federation, after the number 1 of the French federsci had also come forward in recent months, Michel Vion.
