Val Senales will be the beating heart of Italian training in the week leading up to the opening of the World Cup in Soelden.
A refinement on the "Leo Gurschler", a few days after the start of 23-24 October on the Rettenbach, anticipated by the work that, from today and until the weekend, will instead feature the sprinters of Alberto Ghidoni and Raimund Plancker, led by Dominik Paris and Christof Innerhofer. In recent days, most of the blue technicians have climbed the glacier to work on the queen slope of the South Tyrolean town; to the microphones of “Alpin Arena Senales”, thanks to the collaboration of Karin Tscholl, here are the thoughts of Gianluca Rulfi and Roberto Lorenzi, the technical directors of the women's national team and the men's slalomgigantisti group respectively, regarding the preparation of the track and more.
“We will go up with all the athletes, giving priority to who will have to prepare Soelden - Rulfi's words - What do we expect from the season? Well, may 2022 be like the magical 2021 for the Italy of sport: the boys have shown that they are worth the medals that we will try to take home to the Olympics, but first there will be a World Cup to be treated in the best possible way ".
Lorenzi underlines how “we are helping each other, including the speed sector technicians, to prepare the Leo Gurschler. Furthermore, Austria is also with us as they are involved in the collaboration on the Val Senales project.
Another important year awaits us after the World Cup at home, but we are not thinking only in terms of the Olympics. It will also be the season of the restart for tourism, I really hope for a winter in freedom for everyone, with the possibility of skiing and having fun in the mountains. It would be wonderful and I believe that the solutions found go in this direction ".
