It was a World Cup that closed with a largely positive balance sheet, thus representing a new management benchmark for major national and international events. With revenues expected to reach 49 million euros in June, the Cortina 2021 Foundation thus reaches its goal while respecting the financial sustainability of the entire project: a rare and exceptional result, even more so if we consider the context of strong restrictions in which the World Ski Championships were held, with the Covid-19 pandemic which prevented the arrival of the great international public in the Queen of the Dolomites and which involved a series of great organizational efforts on several fronts.
The entire territory also benefited from the world championship event: in addition to the new infrastructures and investments made in recent years to host the sporting event, approximately 9 million euros were spent on economic categories during the two months between the World Championships. local, creating an important induced.
