Courchevel-Méribel has a new reference at the head of the organization of the world event that will see alpine skiing expected in France, in February 2023.
The news was made official in the last few hours and it is a practically obligatory choice, given that the president and already number 1 of the French federation, Michel Vion, with the new role assumed as secretary general of the FIS found himself in the condition of having to leave the others assignments.
Bernard Front was appointed on Wednesday, by the new Board of Directors composed of 18 members who voted him unanimously, to then assume the presidency of the organizing committee of the world championships that will be staged in just over a year and half. Originally from Méribel, Front is also an excellent skier at the Master level. "First of all I would like to thank Michel Vion, who was able to lead to the victory of Courchevel-Méribel 2023 within the FIS - he declared after his inauguration - He also managed the thorny situation of the school holiday calendar with the government with a master's hand, helping our region and thus facilitating the task of the organizing committee.
I congratulate him on his appointment as Secretary General of the FIS, which he will be able to fill in the best possible way. As for me, I am honored to have been chosen as president of the association; I will participate in an adventure to be able to bring up the colors of our two localities, together with the French Federation ”.
