The mayor of Sestriere, Gianni Poncet, together with the Councilor for Sport of the Piedmont Region, Fabrizio Ricca, has already worked on the project for some time, also bringing the Women's World Cup back to the snows of Colle: the last time, in January 2020 with giant (ex aequo triumph of Federica Brignone and Petra Vlhova, for an incredible podium with Mikaela Shiffrin third with just one hundredth of a gap) and parallel (French success with Clara Direz, 3rd and 4th place for Bassino and Brignone), but of new also on 20-21 December 2022, when the same races will be repeated on the “Kandahar - Giovanni Alberto Agnelli”.
And everything will be confirmed, in the event of a "yes" World Championship, with respect to the 2006 Olympics themselves, with Sises2 hosting the giants and Kandahar-GA Agnelli for slalom and team events, with speed races always in Sestriere Borgata, on the legendary Kandahar-Banchetta.
