It's already time for the ski market: Austria starts the revolution with the farewells of Mitter, Puelacher and the return of M

Difficult year in CdM (at the Olympics it went better) for the Wunderteam, especially at the women's level: the contracts of the two sporting directors will not be renewed.

It is already time for the ski transfer market, even if there are a couple of weeks to go until the World Cup is over. Time for reflections and choices, first assessments and decisions already taken as in the case of Austria. Yes, because within the Wunderteam there is disappointment for a year below expectations in the maximum circuit, albeit topped off by the Olympic titles of Matthias Mayer and Johannes Strolz (the latter, however, was not even in the teams national teams at the beginning of the season), as well as that of the team event. And in CdM, women were unlocked only at the end of January with the success of a newfound Cornelia Huetter in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen super-g (ex aequo with Federica Brignone), but crystal balls will not arrive, not even at the specialty level. less than a miracle between downhill and slalom in the men's sector. The OESV has therefore already announced that, after three years at the helm of the women's sector as sporting director, Christian Mitter will not renew his contract expiring at the end of April. "It's been three very exciting years, with great successes, but now it's time to take new paths - the words of the Styrian technician - I would like to thank the association, the athletes, the coaches, the supervisors and the entire staff, I can't wait to face new challenges ”. Within a few hours and also for Andreas Puelacher, for 8 years ds of the men's Wunderteam, it was revealed that the collaboration with the Austrian federation will end at the end of the season. “It's time to resign - his words - I'm not tired, on the contrary I'm happy and ambitious in my job as a coach, but there are times when you have to think about what helps the team and what I can do myself. I think it's the right time to leave ”. From 1 May, Herbert Mandl will take on the role of sports director of the entire Austrian ski, with the responsibility of coordinating all the technicians for what the OESV itself has defined "the start of a phase of adaptation within the organizational structure ". Mandl has the mandate to form a high-level team thinking about the home World Cup in Saalbach 2025, for the one who was head coach of the women's team for many years.
