The Italian Winter Sports Federation is experiencing a decidedly "hot" period, given what will have to happen following the decree law that introduced the limit of three terms for the presidents of sports federations, approved by the Senate definitively and which has been debated for some time for the situation of the FISI.
The latest at the regional level lead us to analyze the situation that has emerged in Veneto, with the president Roberto Bortoluzzi who in the past few hours met in Belluno, in an extraordinary way, the board of directors for an initial discussion on how to move now that the fourth term for the '' current number 1 will no longer be possible. At the “Corriere delle Alpi”, Bortoluzzi himself explained clearly: “We take a week to reflect on what to do, what is certain, the undersigned will no longer be the president of the regional FISI.
This does not mean that I will not be able to fill another role, even if it is premature to talk about it now ”.
Everyone is waiting for the FISI to indicate the date of the national elections scheduled for autumn, the ones that will have to kick off the Olympic four-year period towards Milan-Cortina 2026. And precisely on the issue of whether or not the current number 1 in via Piranesi can be re-nominated. , Flavio Roda, the "Corriere dello Sport" this week, in an article signed by Maria Laura Guardamagna (sports lawyer), underlined how last June 30 the federal president announced that, given the legal uncertainty, it would have left all candidates free to choose whether or not to take into account the legislative limit of the three mandates.
THE FISI PRECISATION
Through a press release, the FISI wanted to clarify its position. "The Federation feels the need to intervene, to protect the legitimacy and correctness of its work, to restore the truth of the facts with respect to what has been published, in recent times and on various press and communication organs - reads the press release - From lastly, and only in chronological order, there were interventions on national newspapers and on social media (eg Corriere dello Sport) clearly aimed at discrediting the Federation's work by representing unfounded or deliberately distorted facts and circumstances.
In particular, the following is observed. Contrary to what speciously and unfoundedly asserted in an article published in the Corriere dello Sport on 6 July, the Federation has already officially communicated that, when evaluating the candidates for the next elective ordinary assembly, it will comply with the application, with the maximum rigor, of the provisions of the law and the Federal Statute, specifying, of course, that the evaluation of the presentation of candidacies, and therefore of one's own subjective position with reference to what is established by the aforementioned provisions, is left to each interested party .
The statement contained in the aforementioned article according to which the Federation “leaves all candidates free to take into account or not the legislative limit to the maximum number of mandates” is therefore completely free and unfounded. It is true, however, that the Federation, as specified, has indicated that any evaluation of whether or not to present candidates is left to the interested parties and that the Federation, as already mentioned, will evaluate the admissibility or otherwise of such candidates with the strictest rigor. based on the aforementioned provisions.
Equally totally unfounded is the assertion according to which the FISI has not yet convened the elective assembly in disregard of the provisions referred to in the aforementioned article and that, consequently, the FISI President and the Federal Council would even find themselves in regime of prorogatio and therefore currently devoid of full powers. In this regard, it is specified - as already known to all affiliates and members - that the elective assemblies of the territorial bodies of the Federation are being called and the federal elective assembly will be convened, all in full and slavish compliance with the statutory provisions. in force, as amended, on the recommendation of CONI and with subsequent approval and ratification by the National Council of the CONI itself, also according to the application of the fundamental principles.
These are the applicable provisions, addressed and approved by CONI, and the Federation is required to comply with these even where it is prescribed that the federal elective assembly must be held, as it will be held, by 15 October next year.
It also follows from this that the federal bodies are still in the fullness of their powers and moreover operate, as always done, in the full and exclusive interest of the Federation, its affiliates and its members. It was also criticized the allocation, by the Federation and for the benefit of the affiliates, of sums useful for the purpose of covering the costs of re-affiliation. In this last regard, it is further specified that the allocation of sums to the benefit of the affiliates, also for the purpose of covering the related affiliate costs, is a more favorable measure for the benefit of the affiliates themselves, applied peacefully for several years now.
This measure constitutes a concrete contribution to the support of the competitive sporting activity for which the Federation is responsible and is made possible only by the unquestionably positive course of the Federation's management activities, which in recent years have allowed the achievement of results such as to be able to provide to a redistribution of the same for the benefit of the entire movement, in an amount certainly higher than what happened previously ".
