Less than a week and we will meet the successor of Gian Franco Kasper, for a historic election at FIS as, for the first time, there will be a real challenge with four candidates for the role of president of the International Federation. On Friday 4 June, with online voting during the traditional spring congress, the confrontation will be very close between Mats Arjes, Johan Eliasch, Urs Lehmann and Sarah Lewis. The Swiss newspaper "Blick", clearly very close to the events of the Swiss house, focused on the delicate situation that would involve the president (for a few more days) of a very powerful federation like the Austrian one, Peter Schroecksnadel, and precisely the candidate of Swiss- Ski, that is the number 1 of the red-cross federsci Urs Lehmann. Apparently Schroecksnadel, who is a member of the FIS council and has launched the next presidency of the OESV in the hands of Karl Schmidhofer (who will be elected at the helm of the Austrian federation on June 19), could "betray" the former champion of the world of descent, of which he has been an open supporter in recent months. "Peter has assured me several times that he will vote for me", Lehmann pointed out at the "Blick", but the president of Swiss-Ski himself admitted to having heard rumors that Schroecksnadel could turn to Johan Eliasch, CEO of Head , an Austrian company which obviously is also one of the main partners of the OESV. “I am convinced that Peter is a man of honor and that he will keep his word he has given me several times, even in the presence of other people,” Lehmann stressed. According to the latest rumors, the FISI itself would support the Swiss candidacy, on a par with Germany, Slovenia and Liechtenstein. The race is about to end, but the games are certainly not closed yet ...
