The Italian championships staged between Bardonecchia and Sestriere were obviously not the only ones in the last few days of March, on the contrary almost all the national reviews of the main Alpine countries and beyond were held.
There was no shortage of winners of caliber, in particular in Sankt Moritz where the races of the Swiss championships were seen: downhill Niels Hintermann and an emerging young woman like Delia Durrer, combined Luca Aerni and Noemie Kolly, while in super- g Justin Murisier prevailed (with Marco Odermatt fourth) in the men's test and Corinne Suter dominated among the girls.
Seal of Loic Meillard in giant, in front of Odermatt himself, and of Zenhaeusern in slalom: the two women's technical competitions, on the other hand, awarded Jasmina Suter (giant) and Wendy Holdener, who had the best of a great race between the narrow poles with Danioth silver and Gisin bronze.
In Montafon, the Austrian nationals with the surprise Julian Schuetter in super-g and the shot of Daniel Danklmaier in the downhill disputed on two heats like the women's one, won by Franziska Gritsch (for 4 cents over Venier), with the winner of the European Cup he then took the bronze in giant behind Trouppe and Haaser and the silver in slalom, folded by one tenth by Katharina Liensberger. Men's slalom which instead went to Simon Rueland, giant to Stefan Brennsteiner. For the multiple world champion jr, Magdalena Egger, here is the super-g title with just one hundredth of advantage over Nadine Fest.
In France, appointment on the snows of Auron-Isola 2000: Romane Miradoli made three of a kind, bringing home downhill, super-g and combined, all according to predictions even among giants, with Tessa Worley in front of everyone, and in slalom with the '' yet another title for Nastasia Noens. At the male level, Thibaut Favrot beat Alexis Pinturault between the wide doors, clear the domination of Clément Noel in slalom. Finally, Cyprien Sarrazin's brace between super-g and combined, awaiting the descent that will complete the program.
In Germany, appointment between Garmisch-Partenkirchen for the fast races and Seefeld for the technical ones: Emma Aicher, born in 2003 who is already a reality at the senior level, has signed a fantastic gold poker, winning downhill, super-g, combined and slalom, also finishing second in giant behind only Marlene Schmotz. Men's descent title to Romed Baumann, that of super-g for Andreas Sander with the bad news of the injury occurred to Josef Ferstl, who fractured his right arm and will be forced to stop several weeks, already operated in the last few hours in Garmisch.
Between slalom and giant, double for Alexander Schmid.
In Slovenia, titles of technical disciplines assigned to Kranjska Gora: Olympic silver Zan Kranjec triumphed in the giant that saw Tobias Kastlunger finish third in the FIS competition, with Lara Della Mea second in the women's test between the wide doors that led Tina Robnik to the national title. The Tarvisian, then, concluded in the square of honor also in slalom, with Ana Bucik first and Slovenian champion, while Hans Vaccari won among men in the absolute race between the absolute posts, with the national title for Anze Gartner.
In the United States, in Sugarloaf, a double appointment with the Nor-Am Cup finals and the national championships, which awarded Paula Moltzan and Jett Seymour in slalom, waiting today and tomorrow for the giants, while Panorama will be the venue for the Canadian championships in the next days.
The national review in Norway is also starting today: first downhill tests in Narvik, which will host all the races that will assign the 2022 titles for a week.
