The Speed Opening with the fast races of Zermatt-Cervinia, or the first trans national descent in the history of the World Cup, expected (as well as the super-g, both male and female) in November 2022, have been talking for several months and on Monday, on the occasion of the opening of the season at FISI, the two Italian speed aces also talked about it.
Sofia Goggia, in fact, defined it as "a beautiful initiative that will give great visibility to our discipline, given the union of the two countries (with the first third of the competition on Swiss snow and the other two thirds in Italy, ed), which will make the race not only beautiful but also innovative ”, while Dominik Paris, who expressed some doubts last summer, in an interview granted to Blick, explains. “Cervinia-Zermatt will certainly be a great competition to present our sport in the best possible way. An interesting project, to be managed in difficult conditions ".
