A good story, for an athlete who over the years has been decidedly unlucky, given that the injury to his right knee (rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament) suffered last January in the World Cup, in the Flachau slalom, was only the 'latest in a long series. Hans Vaccari is back and he did it by winning, practically immediately; yesterday out in the first heat, today in front of everyone in the FIS slalom number 2 on the snow of Livigno; Pontebbano, in the second race of his return 10 months after that painful crash in Austria, beat Matteo Canins, 23 years old from the Fiamme Gialle by 55 cents, who thus won first place in the Italian GP senior classification for this stage. In second place in the national ranking is Stefano Cordone, 22 years old from the Mondolé Ski Team, seventh in the FIS ranking, while the third is Gabriele Sartori, 20 years old from the Ski College Veneto-Falcade (8th in the overall ranking). Behind Vaccari and Canins, Corrado Barbera, 19-year-old emerging from the Fiamme Gialle, 1 ”20 behind the winner, completes the podium of the FIS. In the women's slalom, valid exclusively as a FIS race, after yesterday's success by Marika Mascherona, today the victory went to Lucrezia Lorenzi; Carlotta Marcora, second, was surpassed by 27 cents, while Alice Pazzaglia was placed in third place, with 53 cents behind.
