“Van Deer” already makes the world of ski enthusiasts talk a lot, a lot, with the new brand by Marcel Hirscher which necessarily represents something unique in the snow landscape for the coming seasons. The Salzburg champion launched his product on Wednesday morning, during a press conference in Kaprun with Bruendl Sports, the sports goods giant that will be exclusive, at least for now, in the sale of Van Deer. Speaking at the “Kronen Zeitung”, Hirscher explained his choice to throw himself into this adventure, which ranges from the World Cup, in which he would like to enter with the new ski from the 2022/23 season, to everyday enthusiasts. “After retiring from competition, I immediately had it clear in my mind that I would not be suitable to work in an office or serve as a testimonial. Skiing is my passion and with this product I want to allow as many people as possible to experience unique emotions while skiing. There are no compromises in the choice of material, we aim for the best of the best for every type of solution, from children to adults. We have set up a young and hungry team, my brother Leon is also part of the group and with him we want to enter the market even with boots. Papa Ferdinand? He is present and supports us with his immense amount of knowledge ”. Landing in CdM in just over a year? “I'm personally scouting to find interesting guys, if I can't, I could use them ... myself. I'm kidding of course, that's no longer an option that interests me. The goal is to compete in the cup in 2022/23, but I am sure this ski will win races in the maximum circuit ”. Finally, a question that appeared obvious after the separation from his wife Laura, communicated in the summer without further details: "I want to thank you for the 13 years lived together and the two wonderful children we have - replied Marcel - They are the greatest gift you can have. , I simply ask that our privacy be respected ”.
