A very harsh statement, after what happened in two decidedly eventful Olympic weeks off the track, in particular with what happened in the last few days after Ninna Quario's words in reference to Sofia Goggia.
The FISI, today afternoon, has exposed itself on the whole front, criticizing the attitude of professionals and the media, even if we are still waiting for a definitive clarification on what happened in relation to the situation that led Matteo Marsaglia to declare , and also confirm later, as he was asked to give up the super-g of the Games to make room for Mattia Casse.

Below, the letter published by the communication office of the Federation. “The Italian Winter Sports Federation heavily condemns the too many rumors that have been going on for days, with very controversial tones, around the athletes of the Nationals. Personal judgments addressed to athletes by people outside the Federation are not acceptable, as are execrable judgments expressed on the federal work, by subjects who have no knowledge of the facts. The facts are even more serious if they emerge during a major event such as the Olympic Games. Everything that continues, for days, to be at the center of the news, brings no other result than to increase the tension between athletes, not allowing them to maintain maximum concentration towards their respective competitive commitments and concentrating the media space reserved for our disciplines in useless polemics that have nothing to do with sport, to the detriment of the enterprises carried out by them.
For these reasons, the FISI expects certain statements and polemical tones to cease immediately, to make room for sport, competitive results and the goals that athletes can achieve before the end of the season. The FISI also intends to protect the work of its own Medical Commission, which has been pointed out - in an extremely serious way - to tell falsehoods about the state of health of the athletes it is treating. The Federal Medical Commission has always followed the athletes with the utmost professional seriousness and attention, in compliance with scientific data and clinical examinations, assuming responsibility for decisions regarding recovery times, following injuries, having as a priority the protection of '' safety of the athletes themselves.
His work, combined with the work of technicians and physiotherapists, makes this sector an Italian excellence in the world of sport. For this reason, the Federation warns anyone from questioning the correctness and professionalism of the work of the FISI Medical Commission and will be ready to defend the reasons in any necessary forum ".
