The slalom France, led by Simone Del Dio, is preparing for the brace between Zagreb and Madonna di Campiglio (then on the 12th there will also be Adelboden immediately); calls for both tests, set for the afternoon / evening of 5 and 8 January. There will be no changes between one race and another, with Alexis Pinturault leading the transalpines thanks to the success of Val d''Isère, but also the third seasonal seal signed on Sunday combined with Bormio and thinking of the sweet memories of Savoyard in Zagreb, since 12 months ago only Marcel Hirscher managed to beat him.
The performance in the six slaloms in January was crucial for the 28-year-old from Courchevel, to become an increasingly dominant candidate for the role of absolute crystal ball. In the Equipe de France, however, there is above all a Clément Noel eager to redeem the bitter exit in the first heat of the last slalom on Face de Bellevarde, followed among other things by the immediate one in the parallel giant in Alta Badia, for which he had trained a lot.
The native of the Vosges, who finished in fourth place in Zagreb last year, got ready by also competing in the two FIS slaloms of last weekend in Valmeinier, clearly winning the first and finishing the second in fifth place. With the detachment from the leader of the specialty classification, Henrik Kristoffersen, currently of 70 points, Noel will go in search of the first victory in this World Cup to get closer to what is his seasonal goal, that is to fight for the crystal slalom ball .
Together with the two axes, Victor Muffat-Jeandet, Jean-Baptista Grange, Julien Lizeroux and Robin Buffet will also be competing on the Sljeme hill and then on the Miramonti di Campiglio gully.
As for the women's slalom in Zagreb, scheduled for Saturday 4 January, France will propose the same three athletes competing in Lienz (none of them has obtained qualification for the 2nd run), namely Doriane Escane, Josephine Forni and Marie Lamure .
