The Azzurri have already conquered seven hits and are leading with Cazzaniga downhill and Sala in slalom, but Rossetti is also in the top 3 in slalom. Now the fast races of Sankt Anton and Orcieres-Merlette.

These are record numbers, those obtained by the Azzurri also in the European Cup, in a season that is giving enormous satisfactions at every level. In the continental circuit that acts as an anti-chamber for the World Cup, seven successes have already arrived in the first part of the season: in order, with the brace of Tommaso Sala in slalom, the seals in the speed of Alexander Prast (super-g ) and Davide Cazzaniga (downhill), another shot between the narrow posts signed by Federico Liberatore and, last weekend, still in the technical disciplines with the winning giant of Giovanni Borsotti in Kirchberg and the first career pearl of Marta Rossetti, in the slalom in Zell am See. And at the level of rankings, decisive for the fixed places to be guaranteed for the 2020/21 World Cup, the situation is very good: among the girls, in the general controls Jessica Hilzinger (German slalomist who has won three of the four specialty races scheduled ), with Marta Rossetti ninth and second in the slalom ranking. Valentina Cillara Rossi is tenth in the overall, but in full swing for the final podium in giant where she had all the credentials to take the permanent place Asja Zenere, injured in the second giant of Andalo when she was launched towards the first success in the European Cup ( as known, the Vicenza team ended its season prematurely). On a male level, the situation is even better: Atle Lie McGrath, the phenomenal Norwegian born in 2000, overtook the general Tommaso Sala, but only because Brianza concentrated on the World Cup, skipping the two slalom in Vaujany. Despite this, Tommy is still ahead of everyone in the specialty with 22 points on Holzmann, while Alexander Prast is 5th in the overall (less than 100 points from McGrath) and second in super-g at 4 points from the Austrian Koeck. In turn, after two downhill races there is Davide Cazzaniga in front of everyone with 1st and 4th place in Wengen, to try to replicate what he did last season with the permanent position conquered, while in giant Borsotti and Nani they are respectively 3rd and 4th, but practically glued to Solheim and Brennsteiner. The next events include two female descents in Sankt Anton, already on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 (the Austrian Fest is very fast in the test, but Cillara Rossi, Albano and companions are competitive), with the blue slalom army then committed on Thursday and Friday in the two specialty competitions in Hasliberg, Switzerland. The men will face three fast races in Orcieres-Merlette: on the French snows there will be no Cazzaniga, engaged in CdM in Kitzbuehel, with the two descents set for Friday and Saturday, in addition to the super-g on Sunday 26.
