The Thuile home of recovered World Cup races is both male and female

It was unanimously accepted by the FIS Congress in Zurich for La Thuile's nomination proposal as a possible venue for retrieving both male and female competitions, canceled due to lack of snow or bad weather.

The proposal is to keep La Thuile track Franco Berthod 3 always ready and in optimal conditions for races, especially in the first part of the season, when climatic conditions are the most difficult. No country had ever advanced such a proposal, which was welcomed by all the nations and Fis technicians. The Valdostana resort, home to three fabulous women's World Cup races in 2016 (in the photo Nadia Fanchini and Daniela Merighetti first and third in the second downhill) becomes the first choice for recoveries. "La Thuile has experience in the Men's World Cup and Women's World Cup," said Massimo Rinaldi, sports director of Alpine Skiing Blue, as read on fisi.org - and the Berthod 3 boasts a 800 meter difference, so it can accommodate every kind of competition, from the men's downhill to the female slalom. They are conditions that make it an optimal solution for everyone, because in the event of a race cancellation they will already know where to go. "
