The German national teams for the 2019/2020 season: Luitz "relegated" in the perspective team

The DSV has therefore presented the teams in view of the 2019/2020 season, with several innovations already announced in recent weeks concerning the technical staff. Among women it doesn't change much, with head coach Jurgen Graller in the third year at the helm and supported by the head of the technical specialties, Tobias Lux, and by the sprinter guide, Andreas Furbeck. The discourse in the male sector is very different: after the "historic" farewell of Mathias Berthold, the former German sprinter leader, Christian Schwaiger, took over and in turn was replaced by another highly experienced technician such as '' Austrian Andreas Evers, while Bernd Brunner remained responsible for the slalomgigantisti, who lacked the beacon of the movement in the last decade, namely Felix Neureuther who retired from competition at the end of the last season. The two main groups were called the Olympic team (OK) and the perspective team (PK), with an additional team (EK) and the juniors divided between group NK1 and NK2. Among the women, in addition to the star Viktoria Rebensburg, the slalomists Christina Geiger and Lena Duerr are part of the Olympic team, as well as a rising sprinter like Kira Weidle, while Marina Wallner (again injured in November and in the pits throughout last season) has been relegated to the prospect team, where we find among others also Veronique Hronek, returned to compete in the World Cup after very difficult years. A little 'surprise, he was excluded from the Olympic team Stefan Luitz, fresh from the year of the first victory in the Cup, but also by a new double injury (shoulder to Adelboden, again knee to the World Cup Are) that has closed the season prematurely and will complicate the preparation a little. The Bolsterlang gigantist will not be part of the national elite, made up of sprinters Thomas Dressen (expected to return after the severe Beaver Creek injury) and Josef Ferstl (winner in the Kitzbuehel super-g), as well as by Linus Strasser and Anton Tremmel, on which the federsci is strongly committed in parallel, thinking of the Beijing Games 2022. The other news, in addition to the relegation of Andreas Sander and Alexander Schmid to the prospective team, is the transfer of Fritz Dopfer in the IB training group (instead of AI), with the slalomgigantist struggling, for three seasons now, with a thousand physical problems and called to regain a place in the sun in a team that, in the technical specialties, risks having to suffer a lot.
