On January 4, the women's slalom with seven blue ones, among the men there will be Gross, Moelgg, Vinatzer, Razzoli, Sala, Tonetti and Maurberger.

Already at the beginning of the week that will lead to the two days totally dedicated to slalom, to open the 2020 World Cup on the snows of Zagreb, the FISI technical staff have sent out the calls for both the female group that will face the test on Sljeme on Saturday 4 January, which for the male one engaged in the Croatian capital the following day.
Federica Brignone's "no" has been confirmed for slaloms that are not paired with a giant (or in any case in a favorable calendar position), despite the fact that the 29 year old from La Salle is now the blue reference in the specialty; compared to the Lienz race, we will therefore see the return of Vivien Insam in the World Cup instead of the Aosta Valley, almost two years after the tests held by the '97 Val Gardena class in Flachau and Lenzerheide in January 2018 (without getting points). The rest of Matteo Guadagnini's troops have been confirmed, with Irene Curtoni, Lara Della Mea, Martina Peterlini, Roberta Midali, Marta Rossetti and Anita Gulli.
The third season of men's specialties, for the first of the six races scheduled within 24 days (until Schladming on January 28), will see seven Azzurri involved, with Stefano Gross, Manfred Moelgg, Giuliano Razzoli, Alex Vinatzer, Tommaso Sala, Simon Maurberger and Riccardo Tonetti. Compared to Levi and Val d''Isère, there will therefore not be Federico Liberatore and Fabian Bacher, diverted to the double European Cup slalom in Vaujany, on 5-6 January.
The last success of a blue slalomist arrived right in Zagreb, with the pearl of Manfred Moelgg in the 2017 edition, on a track loved also by Giuliano Razzoli, who took the first podium there (6 January 2009) and the first victory in the World Cup, exactly 12 months later, preceding Moelgg himself for a historic brace.
Among women, however, tradition indicates the 3rd place of Manuela Moelgg in 2011 and the 2nd place of Nicole Gius in 2009.
