Green light for the 82nd edition of Hahnenkamm-Rennen (with the doubt linked to the presence or absence of spectators), which again foresees two descents as in 2021, in addition to the slalom on Ganslern for the "week of the year ". Tuesday 11 January, however, here is an absolute first for the women's circuit with the challenge at Planai: the FIS has already made the choice official.

It is the event par excellence, with an infinitely higher prize pool than any other World Cup event, and a win over the Streif is simply worth a career.
Kitzbuehel is already well ahead with preparations for its three races of the men's circuit, scheduled for Friday 21 and Saturday 22 January with the two iconic descents on the temple slope (departure scheduled at 11.30), and on Sunday 23 with the slalom on the "Ganslern "(First run at 10.30, the second at 13.30).
Today the process of the 82nd edition of the Hahnenkamm-Rennen officially began, with the FIS snow control confirming the races, waiting to understand if there will be spectators at least in the parterre and in a limited number, after the “closed doors” of 2021 (Austria is waiting for indications to save, from this point of view, the most important races of the season). Kitz's week will begin on Tuesday 18 January with the first of the three scheduled tests, and pay attention because there will be an important novelty, compared to the two descents of last year (with a double from Beat Feuz and the return to the podium of Dominik Paris), linked to the approach to the Hausbergkante, since we want to reduce the speed for the final schuss, after the accidents of 2021, in particular that of Urs Kryenbuehl on the final jump of the track-legend.
The big news of the evening, however, concerns the recovery of the women's slalom that will not be held (due to the Covid emergency in the area) in Flachau on 11 January: again next Tuesday, and at the same times (18.00 the 1st heat, at 20.45 the second), the seventh round of the season between the narrow posts will be staged in none other than Schladming. The FIS and the Austrian federation have therefore chosen the Planai, which on January 25 will host the traditional male "night race", for a race that will be truly special.
