"Leone Visit Brescia" is born, the first Italian mascot in a Fisi committee with a view... Milano Cortina 2026

The symbol of Brescia on the slopes was presented today, for a 4-year project up to the Olympic Games at home. "With Visit Brescia we will enhance the entire territory", the words of the federal president Oliviero Valzelli.

On the occasion of the awards ceremony of the Pulcini category of the Fisi Brescia Haiki+ Circuit, the President of the regional committee Oliviero Valzelli, accompanied by the Vice President Gianluigi Vimercati and the members of the board, presented the Project of the first mascot of Italian alpine skiing, "Leone Visit Brescia" . Graziano Pennacchio, CEO of Visit Brescia, a ski enthusiast, commented on Visit Brescia's contribution to this initiative as follows: "Visit Brescia promotes Brescia's tourism in the world and winter sports are an important part of it and we felt it was our duty to invest in our territory and our tourism with Fisi Brescia”. Thus the President Oliviero Valzelli: "The Mascotte Project was born in view of a great event such as the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics. Like the Fisi Brescia Federation, the idea of bringing the Lion as a symbol of Brescia onto the slopes through VISIT Brescia, the tourist agency of the Province of Brescia, it seemed appropriate to enhance the whole territory of our province. A project that will last 4 years in view of the Olympics. It will be a way to bring children closer to sport. The intention is then to hold a competition within schools, to give the mascot a name”. Gianluigi Vimercati, Vice President of Fisi Brescia, comments on this long-term project: "I consider the Mascotte Project essential for the little ones, to keep them close to the world of mountains, tourism and sport, so that it is not extreme competition, but for little ones to have fun. VISIT Brescia supports this project as Brescia is an important province from a tourist point of view, and the fact of having a mascot that accompanies us and takes us to the Olympics is an important message for the whole province. Sport will be driving force for the whole territory. The President Marco Polettini and the CEO Graziano Pennacchio have supported this proposal”. Furthermore, the Fisi Brescia Provincial Committee is concretely supporting children in Ukraine by involving ski clubs in the story of ski suits. The idea came from Colonel Alberto Cicognani, provincial commander of the Carabinieri of Lodi, who involved Alberto Tomba, the ARCA foundation and the Mediolanum foundation in the initiative in order to have resources available. The President Oliviero Valzelli suddenly proposed the idea to the provincial council which expressed itself favourably.
