New FIS inspection on the Matterhorn, work continues on the historic World Cup descents

Last weekend, a new meeting with the organizers of Zermatt / Cervinia: next visit on 20 September, just over a month before the big event.

Double trip to Italy for the FIS delegates who first inspected the “Kandahar G.A. Agnelli ”in Sestriere, then the new“ Gran Becca ”which will host the historic four World Cup runs (29-30 October for the two men, 5-6 November for women) in Zermatt / Cervinia. On the glacier on the border between Italy and Switzerland, work continues in view of the double autumn event; the Organizing Committee showed the significant progress related to the preparation of the finish area, modified according to FIS indications, with the displacement of hundreds of cubic meters of earth to cope with a better distribution of the area reserved for the finish line. The next on-site inspection is scheduled for around 20 September, one month after the arrival of the teams involved in the cup competitions.
