On 30 September 1996 the Ampezzo reality was born; the story of the first president, Mauro Lanaro, and the current number 1 Flavio Alberti.

The Druscié Cortina ski club blows out 25 candles. It was in fact September 30, 1996 when the history of the Ampezzo association began. The Druscié was born on the initiative of a group of friends, snow and mountain enthusiasts (and in particular the Ampezzo valley), eager to do something together, having fun in an atmosphere of serenity, on snow and ice.
To coordinate the group, Mauro Lanaro. And it is precisely the first president who recounts the beginnings of the first quarter of a century of the ski club. "We started with about fifty friends, in 1996, with the idea of creating a reality that could experience sport in a playful way, with commitment, yes, but without excessive competitive stress - explains Lanaro - We practiced alpine skiing but also cross-country skiing, ice sports and golf. The first event we proposed was a night race, on the now abandoned Guargné track. It was a very popular promotional giant, and we also had Kristian Ghedina at the start.
All the events that we proposed in those years had a promotional nature and involved adults and children. The most attended was the giant of January 2: really on that occasion the world was skiing at Col Gallina.
Among the funny episodes of those years, I remember when we "flooded" Cortina with our yellow Bogner jackets, "copying" them from the German national team, or when we won second place in the Italian curling championship ", says Lanaro, now honorary president of the Druscié. "In the following years, under the leadership of Flavio Alberti, the club focused almost exclusively on alpine skiing and competitive spirit, with national and international results that can only fill us with pride".
"We reached the top of the national rankings, bringing our athletes to wear the blue tracksuit and compete in the World Cup (as in the case of Stefano Baruffaldi, ed) but, above all, we managed, thanks to everyone's contribution, to create a valued team, with solid professionalism and solid human ties - underlines Alberti himself - After this first quarter of a century, we are moving towards the next season and towards the future with determination, enthusiasm and shared objectives. And with gratitude to those who started this story of ours on September 30th twenty-five years ago ”.
