A particular spring, all lived in quarantine even by the champions of a white circus that will lose several of the protagonists seen in recent years in the next season.

Heavy names that have hung the skis on the nail also and above all among women: career ended at 30 for Tina Weirather and Nina Haver-Loeseth, while the last to announce the retirement was Hanna Schnarf in Italy. And then again the Germans Ackermann and Hronek, the Swedes Stalnacke (already in the course of the season) and Rapaport, as well as a long-run veteran who was the Slovenian gigantist Ana Drev.
There have often been rumors about the possibility of Anna Veith's retirement, but in the current state of affairs, the Salzburg champion has every intention of trying again: 31 years to go on June 18th, the winner of two World Cups absolute is already training from the physical point of view and only with the return on skis, hopefully for the summer on the glacier, will understand if the sensations will be better than the recovery in the final of 2019, when Anna had to start again from scratch following the last knee crash in Pozza di Fassa at the beginning of last year.
Veith repeated it often: "I want to continue, with the conviction of being competitive again". It is in super-g that the Sochi Olympian (and silver for a penny at PyeongChang) could still have important chances, if we think that with very few speed training he still got two top ten between Bansko (tenth) and Rosa Khutor (seventh), only to be stopped by the post-Garmisch flu and some new knee pain.
Obviously, Anna's physical situation will force her to manage and play a reduced race calendar, with the possibility that she often renounces the descents, already avoided in the first part of the last season, but woe to consider it over. A hit in some cup competitions and especially in big events, with Cortina 2021 and Beijing 2022 on the horizon, may still be possible for a champion of her caliber.
