The appointment is approaching, even more important this year with the expected new change in the calendars of the next World Cup, with the FIS congress hosted in Milan. It will begin on Wednesday 25 May with the assignment of the next world championships in the various winter disciplines, even if the only real challenge concerns alpine skiing. Oberstdorf, in fact, is the only candidate for the 2026 world ski flight championships, as well as Montafon for snowboarding and freestyle and Falun for Nordic skiing on the occasion of the 2027 events. For the same year, four locations will compete for the Alpine World Ski Championships, after those we will see in Courchevel-Méribel in 2023 and in Saalbach in 2025. Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Crans-Montana, defeated by the Austrian reality, will try again for the 2027 edition, but pay attention to the possibilities of Norway with Narvik and the candidacy of the Principality of Andorra with Soldeu, which has already hosted the Cup finals World 2019 for a historic first and, just a couple of months ago, also the final act of the European Cup.
