The opening of the World Cup is approaching: the word to the many protagonists of the eve, with a general look at the season.

Saturday in Soelden will finally start the hunt for crystal balls and, two days after the female giant on the Rettenbach that will mark the beginning of the 2019/2020 season, it is time for conferences in the town of the Oetztal.
And on the pre-race Thursday, as per tradition, Head is the home of having all the eyes of the world media on it: the brand that supplies some of the best athletes of the white circus, takes advantage of the resonance box of the first stage of the Cup to launch in great style all the news of the vintage at the starting line.
Everyone wanted to hear from Alexis Pinturault's voice if the post-Hirscher era could become his, but the mild transalpine champion didn't expose too much, talking about quality opponents and an open fight for the general World Cup, which remains obviously the great goal of the 28-year-old from Courchevel. At his side also Mathieu Faivre, fresh from "break" with the ex-girlfriend Mikaela Shiffrin, and gigantic colleagues who on Sunday on the Rettenbach will try to fight for something important, starting from a Ted Ligety convinced to be able to still do very well in the " his "Soelden, where he won four times.
And then Kjetil Jansrud, Matthias Mayer, Beat Feuz, or the "heavy patrol" of the sprinters who, while not competing in the weekend (with the exception of the Austrian, who will try to collect some giant points), presented himself at the great public then giving appointment for late November in Lake Louise.
Several of the stars in Pink of Head are already thinking of the North American trip: from Anna Veith, who in recovery from the umpteenth injury has chosen to skip Soelden, but should really make it for the second seasonal giant in Killington (30 November), in Tina Weirather who will focus on speed and will start from the starting gate directly to Lake Louise, from 6 to 8 December.
And then Lara Gut-Behrami, called to the season of great redemption, Wendy Holdener and another highly anticipated Swiss, a Corinne Suter who can do very well in her fast races, but will be in the race on Saturday on the Rettenbach to put some other giant curve in the legs, maybe make some points and get ready for a December that will already be "hot".
