Under the snow that has fallen abundantly today, the Queen of the Dolomites is preparing for an event, the one organized by the Cortina 2021 Foundation with Triumph Group International, which will see Tina Maze parade as a guest in Cortina, in addition to the various national delegations present in Cortina. '' exception of an evening conducted by Petra Loreggian (voice of RDS) and with the great music protagonist, with Gianna Nannini, Francesco Gabbani and many other artists.
For the two world weeks, two new 3D videomapping will light up the historic center, embracing the facades of the buildings. The two installations are part of a luminous path that continuously involves the entire historic center: starting from Christmas, the Cortina Town Hall lights up every evening, transformed into a work of architectural light design. Cortina 2021 Foundation has created this light show to chase away the shadows of a sporting event that was really born under the best auspices, but forced in the race to adapt to current restrictions.
A hope that also passes from art, in a show that is completely up to standard, outdoors and spaced out. The project is a production of Q10 Media with the contribution of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Department for Sport; from 7 to 21 February the projectors will illuminate the facades of the Royal Hotel and the Old Town Hall, projecting videos lasting about 6 minutes. For the entire duration of the World Cup, four times a day, between 5.30 pm and 9.00 pm, it will be possible to admire the spectacle of light and colors.
The two buildings will turn into a screen, a canvas animated by two different intertwined narratives, conceived as a journey in stages. At the opening of the show, the animation of the logos, which like an introductory theme dictates the rhythm and colors. On the facade of the Hotel Royal, the storyboard is organized in narrative blocks, which dissolve into each other: one is dedicated to the great sporting tradition of Cortina, with beautiful sequences of the 1956 Olympics; another tells of the birth of Cortina, a microcosm where the environment is in balance with urban development; the mountain ranges frame the village, which gradually becomes a small town, dominated by the bell tower; the “poetic” birth of the Pale Mountains, the Dolomites, is told in a suggestive crescendo that blends music and color.
The Old Town Hall, on the other hand, offers an introduction with the flags of the nations participating in the world championship, which create a dynamic effect game. Space, then, for some exceptional archive images, which trace the history of winter sports alternating in a flow of colors.
