While the Val di Fassa is tinged with the first autumn colors, it is already aiming for the next winter season, which is almost upon us.
The twenty TechnoAlpin guns that replace the previous DemakLenko guns were delivered yesterday on the “Aloch” slope. Now it will follow the assembly and installation along the slope to be then tested and put into operation for the preparation of the snow; the opening of the track, conditions permitting, can take place as early as November 10th, more than a month before the big appointment of the season at a competitive level, that is the men's slalom of the European Cup scheduled for December 16th.
The new supply of cannons follows a tender issued by the Municipality of Sèn Jan, as explained by Giulio Florian, mayor of Pozza di Fassa, which provided for the supply of used cannons. The expectation of the municipal administration on the projects related to the "Aloch" is high: "In addition to the technical-sporting value that the track has, also because the great events themselves allow to finance the social part - the words of the first citizen - We have been active since before the pandemic to look for additional resources and tools that allow the 'Aloch, which I like to define an open-air laboratory, a further development in a functional perspective for alpine skiing in the near future ”.
Three are the primary objectives stated by Florian; the very tough Aloch as a material test center, laboratory for the equipment necessary for snow preparation and another aspect, linked to the rehabilitation of athletes. "In detail on that compendium called Aloch, we have an optical fiber distribution, currently off, which could give a big hand to technicians, doctors and coaches thanks to the use of nanotechnologies both from the point of view of television shooting, diagnosis for rehabilitation of athletes and training of boys ”, continues Florian.
For Buffaure Spa, the plant company that manages the Aloch, everything is ready to face a new prestigious season. "We are ready for the plant engineering part, the overhaul has been done, the track support team is working, so preparations are already underway - says Elisa Maccagni, vice president of the company - and therefore we are now focusing on snowmaking that for us it is very important ”.
The team assigned to the Aloch is made up of seven people: Giovanni Zulian, ski and snow manager, Sergio Liberatore as contact person for the teams and then three employees plus the service manager and a cat driver at the plant. What are the further objectives for Aloch Pista Azzurra? "In addition to the European Cup, the two weeks of the Baltic Cup - says Maccagni - In addition to being a federal reference center thanks to the agreement with the FISI and internationally (many World Cup athletes from various national teams often train on track symbol of Pozza), a fact that fills us with pride, we aspire in view of the Milan Olympics in Cortina 2026 to become one of the training fields of alpine skiing ".
