Last stage of the South American Cup in Corralco: Henrik Von Appen opens with two downhill wins

The Chilean beats a sequence of young Austrians in the home races that bring him closer to the top of the South American circuit. Poor participation at the female level, where Lara Colturi (absent) holds the victory in the general classification.

A whole week of competitions, for the last stage of the South American Cup on the snow of Corralco. In the Chilean town, the South American circuit closes with a double inaugural day dedicated to the descents, which have reopened the games for the general classification of SAC at the male level, with Andres Figueroa now followed by Tiziano Gravier and Henrik Von Appen, while among the women it is now everything is defined, with Lara Colturi (absent in Corralco, having already returned to Europe after the long block of training and competitions which began in July) who will close the games arithmetically in the next few hours. Von Appen was the great protagonist of the two descents on Tuesday and Wednesday: the Chilean host beat the Austrians Stefan Eichberger in race-1, second with 31 hundredths of a gap, Andreas Ploier (3rd to + 0 "56) and Manuel Traninger, 4th at + 0 ”80. In the encore, HVA adjusted Ploier by 38 cents, with Traninger third to keep Eichberger off the podium, while Gravier approached the top of the general by finishing 5th, to then conquer the success in the downhill valid for the national championships (with Traninger 2 ° and Ploier 3 ° overall). Carlo Alberto Arduino, the only Italian in the race, took home two decent placings with a 19th and a 22nd finish. Among the women, just 5 registered and dominated by the young (2002) Norwegian Malin Sofie Sund, who scored a personal double. Having canceled the combined initially scheduled at the beginning of the stage and moved to Friday, today the competition program in Corralco will continue with a double super-g, both for the SAC and as a valid test for the national championships.
