Nordic combined: the Austrians conclude the meeting in Garda Trentino, blues in Tarvisio and Planica

Greiderer and his companions for a week of preparation (with various disciplines practiced) in Riva del Garda, while the Italian national team will work until Friday 8 July between Friuli and Slovenia.

After having welcomed the "Attacking Vikings" of the Norwegian men's alpine ski team last month, Garda Trentino has again been chosen by the protagonists of snow sports as the ideal destination for a summer retreat amidst sports, nature and scenic beauty. This time it is the turn of the men of the CdM group as regards the Austria of the Nordic combined, which arrived in Riva del Garda for a short but intense meeting, from Thursday 30 June until today to conclude a week of great quality, in preparation for the next winter season. Five athletes arrived in Garda Trentino: Lukas Greiderer (bronze medal in the normal hill race at the Beijing 2022 Games), Mario Seidl (team bronze in Pyeongchang 2018), Philipp Orter (team bronze at the 2017 Lahti World Championships) , Stefan Rettenegger (individual and team gold medal at the Youth Olympic Winter Games in Lausanne 2020) and Martin Fritz, who was junior world champion in the team event in Val di Fiemme 2014. With them the technicians Jochen Strobl and Christoph Bieler. In recent years, the Trentino shore of Lake Garda has been a frequent destination for the national selections of the Nordic combined: in fact, the Italian men's national team led by Alessandro Pittin has trained several times in Garda Trentino, and more recently the young women's representative who gave excellent proof of themselves in the first seasons of the World Cup of the discipline. “It is an honor to host the Austrian national team in Garda Trentino. Ours is a territory capable of offering a variety of outdoor activities and for this reason it is a perfect destination for training. As per tradition for the retreats in Garda Trentino, the athletes had the opportunity to experience different sports disciplines during the collegiate, with mountain bike tours, activities on roller skis, SUP and mountain running. “I have often been to Garda Trentino to do sports, but in the future I would also like to come back to enjoy some relaxation. And for the first time I was able to windsurf, ”said Lukas Greiderer. BLUE BETWEEN TARVISIO AND PLANICA Ivo Pertile, technical director of the Italian Nordic combined national team, organized a meeting for the A, B and World Cup teams, divided between Tarvisio and Planica. From Monday 4 to Friday 8 July, appointment in the localities between Friuli and Slovenia for the blue specialists, led by the pool of technicians led by Pertile himself and composed of Andrea Bezzi, Andrea Morassi, Ivan Lunardi and Alessandro Da Ponte.
