Nordic combined: Jarl Magnus Riiber is still the king of Seefeld, for the Norwegian the World Cup is getting closer

The Norwegian won all three races of the weekend and won the Seefeld Triple for the second time in his career, replicating the success he achieved last year. Honoredly defeated Ilkka Herola and Akito Watabe. Twenty-first Alessandro Pittin, the best of the Italians.

Three victories in three days, 7 in the season and 34 in career for Jarl Magnus Riiber, increasingly dominant of the Nordic combined and on the way to winning the third consecutive World Cup. The Norwegian has shown that he knows how to win in different ways: thanks to an exceptional jump segment, by gap, in the sprint or thanks to a tactical conduct from the top of the class, as happened in the last race in Seefeld. In the first race, held over a distance of 5 km, the Norwegian won in the sprint, beating Akito Watabe at the photofinish, with Vinzenz Geiger on the lowest step of the podium ahead of Ilkka Herola and Espen Bjoernstad. The Finnish Herola then took revenge in Race 2. Along the 10 km of the cross-country test he proved to be the best cross-country skier on the circuit, going back to Watabe, who started half a minute earlier, only to lose the sprint for the square. honor, won by the Japanese. The test was dominated by Riiber, who secured a clear advantage in the jump, before administering the fund. These three athletes then competed for the victory in Race 3 and the Triple. Once again Riiber made the void with an exceptional jump but along the 15 km of the cross-country test he was overtaken by the two rivals. Everything was then decided in the final, where the Norwegian was tactically perfect, taking the lead on the short finish straight and winning again, ahead of Herola, with Watabe third. With the Seefeld hat-trick that brought 300 points, Riiber is getting closer and closer to winning the third consecutive crystal ball. The Norwegian is in fact firmly in command of the overall World Cup standings with 940 points and a lead of 386 points over Vinzenz Geiger. Triple from Seefeld gives a vote of six for Italy, in difficulty in Race 1, where no points were scored, but then increased in the tests on Saturday and Sunday. Pittin and Costa entered the top 30 in both races, finishing the Triple in 21st and 28th position. He finished 30th in the final Buzzi standings, making a comeback in the long cross-country stage.
