With Jarl Magnus Riiber absent and preparing for the World Championships in Oberstdorf, Geiger wins both races in Saxony, keeping the race open to the crystal ball. Among the blue positive signs from Aaron Kostner, but Alessandro Pittin absent.

In Race 1, after finishing 14th in the jumping segment, the German reassembled in the first part of the cross-country stage to then assert his incisive finish in the final stretch. In fact, on the longest climb of the circuit, Geiger attacked and detached his opponents, flying towards his third victory of the season and sixth in his career. The podium was monopolized by Germany, with Fabian Riessle 2nd and Eric Frenzel 3rd preceding Ilkka Herola, beaten in the sprint and at the foot of the podium at the end of the race.

In the second round, Vinzenz Geiger further increased his tally of victories, rising to 7, all obtained in the last three seasons. Starting fifth after the jump, the German resumed all the athletes who preceded him along the course and in the final he went to the attack again, breaking away from the queues the opponents of the day: the Austrian Lukas Greiderer and the Japanese Akito Watabe, who then played the remaining positions of the podium in the sprint, won by the Japanese.

With the double success of Klingenthal Geiger keeps alive some small hope of winning the World Cup. Four races from the end, Jarl Magnus Riiber is still in command of the general classification with 186 points of margin on the German.
Three Azzurri competed over the weekend: Samuel Costa, Raffaele Buzzi and Aaron Kostner, with Alessandro Pittin absent to finish the preparation for the World Championships in Oberstdorf. After a difficult first race where Italy did not collect points, in Race 2 a positive Kostner was seen in both segments of the race. After having finished 19th in the jump, the Val Gardena defended himself on narrow skis, finishing 22nd. Costa (31st) and Buzzi (41st) are out of the top 30.
