Italy’s Nordic combined team loses Greta Pinzani: torn ACL in left knee

Nordic combined: as happened to Annika Sieff at the beginning of summer, Italy has suffered another serious injury, this time to the very young athlete from Tarvisio, who sustained the damage during training in Predazzo.

A major blow as the summer preparation draws to a close ahead of a season that, for Nordic combined athletes too, culminates in the World Championships in Falun.

Italy has lost Greta Pinzani, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee after falling during a training session on the large hill in Predazzo; the 21-year-old from Tarvisio, a member of Sci CAI Monte Lussari, was attending the Italian team’s training camp in the Trentino resort, venue for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic events.

For her, the verdict is already clear: the 2026/27 winter will not even get started.
