In a press conference held today in Falun Mario Stecher officially announced its withdrawal dall''attivit & agrave; racing. The news was nell''aria for several weeks, or since the veteran was not included in the team for the World Cup.

Born July 17, 1977 in Eisenerz, Stecher scored 12 victories in the World Cup, two silvers individual championship and a total of 43 podiums in the maximum circuit.
Also in relay won medal in four consecutive editions of the Olympic Games (bronze in 2002, gold in 2006 and 2010, even bronze in 2014). Always in the team event has also collected two golds, one silver and one bronze at the World Championships.
Beyond the & agrave; the palmares, gi & agrave; remarkable for s & eacute ;, of Stecher impressed longevity & agrave; racing. In fact, his first success in the World Cup dates back to January 15, 1994, when it imposed the tender age & agrave; 16 years and 182 days setting the record, tutt''ora unbeaten, athlete pi & ugrave; youngest to win in the maximum circuit.
His last victory & egrave; instead arrived in December 2010 and his last podium in races tier & egrave; was obtained at the World Championships Fiemme 2013, more than 35 years.
