The Nordic Combined World Cup still speaks Norwegian. The holder of the crystal ball won both in the first and in the second Ruka race, leaving the crumbs to the opponents. In race 3 the 2000 class Jens Luraas Oftebro took his first success in the maximum circuit.

Jarl Magnus Riiber resumes as he finished last season, or rather by winning. In the first two races held in Ruka, the Norwegian phenomenon once again proved to be of a higher level than the competition. In Race 1 he imposed himself in a sprint on the young Austrian Johannes Lamparter and on Jens Luraas Oftebro after a comeback from 4th place. The victory in Race 2 took place alone instead. After finishing the jump segment in command, Riiber in fact imposed a considerable step on the skis and gradually increased his advantage. On the occasion, two champions of the discipline accompanied him on the podium: Eric Frenzel 2nd and Akito Watabe 3rd.
In Race 3 it was instead the wind that animated the competition. In fact, it was not possible to compete in the jump test and so the PCR (provvisional competition round) on Thursday was taken into consideration, in which Riiber was disqualified. To take advantage of his absence was therefore Jens Luraas Oftebro, the first athlete born in the 21st century to win the World Cup. The young Norwegian got the better of the Germans Fabian Riessle and Manuel Faisst, while he finished 4th Lamparter ahead of Estonian Ilves.
Good season debut for the Italian national team which, without captain Alessandro Pittin, has scored seven points with three athletes: Samuel Costa, Aaron Kostner, recovering after his injury, and Raffaele Buzzi. The fourth blue Giulio Bezzi also performed well in Ruka.
Jarl Magnus Riiber is already at the top of the World Cup standings with a margin of only 14 points over Jens Luraas Oftebro and 30 over the Austrian Johannes Lamparter who for the moment took 6th place as his worst result.
Thanks to the cancellation of the Lillehammer stage to see the combinatists in action we will have to wait until the pre-Christmas weekend when the World Cup will stop in Ramsau.
