Riiber returns and is immediately the master in Seefeld: 8th hurray in as many seasonal races

Nordic Combined World Cup: the Triple begins with the Norwegian show, Geiger and Lamparter go up on the podium, with the Austrian always leading the overall standings. Pittin, best blue, closes 30th.

A solo from absolute master, he who had missed the races in January causes a back problem and also the need to calibrate the preparation in a Beijing 2022 key. Jarl Magnus Riiber opens the Seefeld Triple dominating a day that began with a lot of wind on the Austrian ski jump, a situation that forced the jury to cancel the jump and use the Provisional Competition Round which yesterday saw the Norwegian phenomenon make a void. Starting with almost a minute of margin on the first pursuers for the 7.5 km of cross-country skiing, Riiber controlled without any problem, closing in perfect solitude for his eighth seasonal gem (in as many races!); the podium is completed by Vinzenz Geiger and Johannes Lampaert, who defends the leadership of the World Cup, able in the final to overtake the other German Weber, 4th, and Estonian Ilves 5th, with Frenzel beating Herola in the sprint for the sixth square. Some discreet signals from the four blues in the race: Alessandro Pittin comes back up to 30th place, Samuel Costa is 37th, Raffaele Buzzi 40th and Aaron Kostner 50th.
