After a two week break this weekend the Nordic Combined World Cup is back on stage. Two Gundersen took place in Ramsau (Aut), which saw the German excel.

Geiger had already shown that he liked the Ramsau race context, where in 2016 he had conquered his first career podium in CdM and where in December 2019 he had obtained a victory and a third place. In these two races he reaffirmed it, beating Jarl Magnus Riiber twice.
Both tests had the same script, with the Norwegian in the lead after the jump segment and acting as a hare in the back. The superiority in the flight, however, was not overwhelming as on other occasions and the accumulated advantage was not sufficient to contain the comeback of the opponents.
Everything was then resolved in the sprint and on both occasions the winner was Geiger. But if Riiber's tactical mistake in letting his opponent down on Saturday was evident, on Sunday the German won thanks to a better start.
Said of the two challengers who fought head to head for the victories, the remaining places on the podium were occupied by the Austrian Lukas Greiderer (Saturday), able to regulate the youngest teammate Lamparter, and by the German Fabian Riessle (Sunday) , which preceded the two Austrians.
Chapter Italy: the Ramsau races saw Alessandro Pittin return to action, fresh from the positivity to covid-19. The blue has collected a 23rd and a 15th place, an overall positive balance since the shape on skis is still far from that of the best days. Both Samuel Costa and Raffaele Buzzi missed the points zone in both races. Aaron Kostner was also present in Austria who did not pass the qualification cut. The Val Gardena did not find the right feeling with the springboard where he was injured last year.
