In Nizhny Tagil Stefan Kraft takes the lead, Sato surprises everyone in race 1

The Austrian champion, seventh in Race 1, has leveled up in the second race, inflicting abysmal detachments on all his rivals and pulling himself up in second place in the overall World Cup standings.

The third stage of the World Cup gave great surprises on Saturday and on Sunday the return to the top of some of the circuit's big names. Race 1 was very balanced, so that the top four finishers finished within 2.6 points. First career victory for the talented Japanese Yukiya Sato, who with a comeback in the second series mocked for 5 tenths Karl Geiger. An Austrian derby instead involved the fight for third place, with Aschenwald, at the second podium of the season, able to overtake a reviving Schlierenzauer for only 4 tenths. The Austrian champion, at the command in mid-race, was unable to defend himself in the final act , thus losing the opportunity to return to the podium, but managed to get behind Kubacki 5th, R. Kobayashi 6th and Stefan Kraft 7th. The Salzburg man took the lead in Race 2, making two jumps over the HS point which allowed him to inflict abysmal detachments on all his opponents and win the 19th success in first level competitions. The place of honor went to the Swiss Killian Peier, who returned to good levels after a difficult and detached start to the season of 23 points. Instead, Ryoyu Kobayashi finished on the lowest step of the podium, taking the lead after the first jump, but only scoring the 23rd score in the final act. The Japanese still managed to take home the first podium of the season, mocking Daniel Andre Tande for 5 tenths. The Norwegian, only 21st in Race 1, is still leading the World Cup standings with 260 points. Behind him is a brawl between Kraft, 2nd at 196, Geiger, 3rd at 192 and Kobayashi, 4th at 190. After the weekend of races on Russian soil, the World Cup now arrives in Germany, in Klingenthal, where next week an individual test and an Event Team will be staged.
