Six hundred cross-country skiers started today in Livigno, illuminated by the sun, for the 30 km free technique of Sgambeda.

The victory went to the Norwegian, already Gold World in the relay, Anders Gløersen, in front of the Swedish Viktor Brännmark and the Alto Adige Julian Brunner, first of the Italians. Among the women, it happened for the Swedish Olympic champion Anna Haag on the Russian Klara Moravcova and the Swiss Nicole Donzallaz.
In the men's competition, the first selection came thanks to the effort of the bib number one Emil Jönsson, husband of Anna Haag, Swedish, four Olympic medals and four world medals around her neck, but after a few kilometers to take the reins of the competition Anders Gløersen waited too long, two world medals in addition to nineteen podiums and eight wins in the World Cup. At a third of the race, the Norwegian is shaken by the Swedish Viktor Brännmark with the two to alternate until the end giving a final sprint where Gløersen imposes for a few centimeters. The battle for the lowest step of the podium is also exciting, where the South Tyrolean Julian Brunner precedes the Valtellina Alan Martinelli.
