Biathletes in Viareggio, cross-country skiers in Dobbiaco: the Olympic four-year period begins for the Italian national teams

A new Olympic four-year period begins and, already this weekend, it's time to work hard on the athletic level for the Italian national teams of biathlon, cross-country skiing and roller skis. Let's start from the first, with the meeting organized by the new technical director Klaus Hoellrigl in Viareggio, from Sunday 15 to Sunday 22 May, for the elite teams and Milan-Cortina 2026. Among the men, Didier Bionaz, Patrick Braunhofer, Cedric Christille, Daniele will be present. Fauner, Tommaso Giacomel, Iacopo Leonesio, Michele Molinari and David Zingerle (not yet Lukas Hofer after shoulder surgery), while the women's team will count on Dorothea Wierer and Lisa Vittozzi, as well as Michela Carrara, Hannah Auchentaller, Samuela Comola, Eleonora Fauner, Irene Lardschneider, Beatrice Trabucchi, Linda Zingerle and Rebecca Passler. The athletes will be followed by the pool of federal technicians made up of Inderst, Kahkonen, Romani, Zattoni, Romanin, Cianciana, Mezzaro and Piller Roner. As for the fund, the technical director Alfred Stauder has ordered the calling of a meeting for the teams of the World Cup and Milan-Cortina 2026; appointment in Dobbiaco for two weeks, from Sunday 15 to Saturday 28 May with Greta Laurent, Anna Comarella, Francesca Franchi, Martina Di Centa, Caterina Ganz, Cristina Pittin, Martina Bellini, Nicole Monsorno, Federica Cassol and Sara Hutter at work as well as , on a male level, Federico Pellegrino, Francesco De Fabiani, Giandomenico Salvadori, Paolo Ventura, Michael Hellweger, Davide Graz, Martin Coradazzi, Simone Mocellini, Mikael Abram, Elia Barp and Alessandro Chiocchetti. Federal technicians Markus Cramer, Fulvio Scola, Renato Pasini, Francois Ronc Cella, Giuseppe Cioffi, Paolo Riva and Enrico Perri will be present to coordinate the work of the athletes. The roller ski, which will start much earlier the competitive season, a week of work in the splendid setting of Nicolosi, in the province of Catania, for Team A and the “Observed” team. In fact, from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 May, twelve athletes were called up by the technical director Michel Rainer for an intense training, the first meeting of 2022. The following will be present: Jacopo Giardina, Matteo Tanel, Michael Galassi, Michele Valerio, Riccardo Masiero, Alberto Dalla Via, Gianmarco Gatti, Emanuele Becchis, Luca Curti, Tommaso Dellagiacoma, Elisa Rossato and Elisa Sordello. Leading the training were the technicians Emanuele Sbabo, Solange Chabloz and Tommaso Tamburro, as well as the physiotherapist Antonio Ruggiero.
