The last of the three days dedicated to the Gran Fondo took place today in Livigno; after the team prologue of the Visma Ski Classics on Friday and the traditional Sgambeda open also to the amateurs of yesterday, this morning the program was completed by the individual prologue of the Visma Ski Classics.

Under a snowfall and with a temperature of -1 degrees, the protagonists of the circuit in classical technique challenged themselves on the distance of 30 km. In the men's field, Tord Asle Gjerdalen presented himself at the starting line to forget the opaque team test yesterday but despite his attacks the first intermediate sprint, at 5 kilometers, goes to Jonsson, ahead of Karlsson and Kardin. The sprint goals are followed and Karlsson takes revenge on Jonsson, while Kardin is still third. Mauro Brigadoi in 43.a position and yesterday's winner at the "Sgambeda" in free technique, Anders Gloersen, in 52.a. After the sprint finish, around halfway through the race, the attention goes to the climb goals and to captain the group comes the Norwegian Petter Eliassen, back to compete after two years of stop to devote himself to his profession. The ascents are approaching and with them the breastplate of Morten Eide Pedersen stands out on the horizon. E 'Vokuev to win the first milestone climb, ahead of Oestensen and Morten Eide Pedersen. But as in the first, it is Vokuev who popped up while the most anticipated protagonists seem in difficulty, Nygaard is 14th, Gjerdalen 19th with Brigadoi in difficulty after a great start, 31st ahead of teammate Francesco Ferrari. At 5 km from the finish Eliassen stands in the lead, ahead of the men in yellow Bjoerset and Jespersen, but the final rush is all BN Bank, who steals the scepter to the favorites and ends with four athletes at the finish line: Pettersen, Pedersen, Oestensen and Eliassen. Gjerdalen ends 21st.
At the start of the women's competition Britta Johansson Norgren is the favorite, but she is quiet in the lead group, along with Lina Korsgren, the sprinter Katerina Smutna, Astrid Slind and the climber Justyna Kowalczyk. Norgren attacks at the right time and wins the two sprint goals near the finish area. The Italian of the Trentino Robinson Team, Chiara Caminada, is in difficulty. But also the Polish Kowalczyk runs for the Team Trentino Robinson, and 10 km of the race is in fifth place while the usual Norgren commands. The Smutna is fourth, the third Slind and at the side of Norgren thinks the Korsgren, partner of Team 157. The leading group is composed of six athletes, with competitors Visma Ski Classics closer spaced about ten meters.
In the middle of the race no one seems to take the initiative and Norgren waits sly, leaving the initiative to others. The finish line is on the horizon and it is still the Norgren to win it, in front of the Slind and the queen of the Tour de Ski Kowalczyk. Two trio in command, the first is composed of Norgren-Slind-Kowalczyk, but 10 km from the finish line is the Polish to take the reins of the challenge. 21 km of race and the Swedish launches an attack that perhaps could be the last, taking home another goal finish, always ahead of Slind and Kowalczyk. The Smutna, fourth, instead follows more lingering at about 40 ". Only the indisputable foundational technique of the Slind seems to stand up to the powerful Norgren. The final in that of Livigno and initially the Slind seems to have more, but the irrepressible strength of Norgren takes over, with Justyna to climb "herringbone" while the opponents seem more at ease with the double poling. The final is all for Swedish Norgren who takes the first individual test of the season Visma Ski Classics. Slind second and applause for the third Kowalczyk, a great result for the Trentino Robinson Team
