Italy closes the roller skating World Cup with a bang: golden sprint team with Matteo Tanel and Francesco Becchis

A Madona ended the Latvian world championship with the most awaited triumph for the Italian national team.

The roller skis world championships ended with the fourth and fifth medals won by the Azzurri, but above all the first title arrived, right at the last race available. After the bronze of Anna Bolzan and the three silver medals won by Lucia Scardoni, Matteo Tanel and by the same Venetian cross-country skier who, paired with Lisa Bolzan, finished the women's senior sprint team in the morning, made the plunge into gold is the duo formed by Matteo Tanel and Francesco Becchis. The Alto Adige and Cuneo have all beaten in a heart-pounding sprint senior team, in which Becchis received the change from his partner in the firing position to then play everything in the volatona with Andresen, already gold in the individual sprint, bent in the last meters and forced to silver for Norway, while Sweden took the bronze with Norum-Gustafsson. A masterpiece also touched by the Italians Lucia Scardoni and Lisa Bolzan, second behind the Swedes Soemskar (in the third gold in the event) and Olsson, ahead of the Russian couple Vlasova-Nikolaeva. The final day also saw the Italian junior couples fighting for the podium: in the women's sprint team, Laura and Alba Mortagna in fact finished in fifth place, in a race dominated by the Russian Potapova and Bylinko, who regulated the Swedish duo Lignell- Andersson and the Slovakians Mazurova and Sivokova. At the male level, Riccardo Lorenzo Masiero and Andrea Gartner caressed the bronze, always in the top ten in each of the races of this World Championship and mocked in a sprint team that saw them finish in 4th place, overcome in the final by the Norwegian's great comeback Korsaeth who, paired with Fridlund, took the podium behind the new stars Karakosov-Grigoriev (still Russia, with the second to fourth in four races) and the Swedes Rosjoe-Ekberg.
