The FIS corrects a mistake in the classification of the Cup; now De Fabiani eleventh

That something did not work in the Cross Country Skiing World Cup standings that the FIS had published at the end of the men's Tour de Ski was understood on Sunday evening but we had already "drove" and we awaited the official correction.

We hoped that the correct classification would be published at close quarters, but the International Federation took 48 hours to realize what happened and proceed with the correction. The mistake, marked by a superficial attention, resided in the fact that the points for the final classification of the Tour de Ski had not been assigned on the basis of the order of arrival at the top of the Cermis but on the basis of the general classification provisional at the end of the previous stage, the 15 km starting in Lake di Tesero. To benefit from the error, among the many, Francesco De Fabiani who had been awarded the 200 points for the fourth place he had at the end of the penultimate stage instead of the 116 points that belong to the ninth of the Tour. The result of the corrections that the Aosta Valley falls from the sixth place reported Sunday afternoon to the correct eleventh place.
