Klingenthal lottery crowds: maiden victory for Chiara H lzl

A very complicated day with the wind in Klingenthal, but as the Queen would say ... "the show must go on". With a great joker exploited to the fullest, Austria's Chiara HÃ¶lzl took her first career victory, ahead of Ema Klinec and Katharina Althaus. The Italians still in difficulty.

Klingenthal is infamous for the adverse weather conditions and even today the Saxon town gave a taste of it for the Women's World Cup in the special jump, at the debut on the impressive Sparkasse Vogtland Arena trampoline. After an initial attempt to dispute the competition "in the skirt" in the late morning, Aeolus forced the race direction to move it to the afternoon with consequent counted times that led the jumpers to challenge each other on the single series. A spotless landing has taken away several points along with the compensation, but the striking measure was enough to bring home the first career success in the maximum circuit. With this result HÃ¶lzl has approached the top of the overall World Cup standings, but its long-term hold is still to be verified to put it as the main antagonist of Lundby in the fight against the crystal ball. All the other top athletes could not count on the favorable breeze from the twenty-two year old Schwarzach im Pongau. At the place of honor at 5.7 points from the Austrian an excellent Ema Klinec was classified, able to land at 129 meters with an essential flat calm with Eolo. The talented Slovenian returned to the top-three for the first time since the second break of the cruciate ligaments of a knee and in all respects in the December races she showed her best version ever. After the record season of 2018-1919, Germany won their first podium of the season at home thanks to Katharina Althaus, mocked by just 3 tenths from Klinec. The Bavarian has reached the milestone of the 30 podiums in top-level competitions thanks to a performance of 131.5 meters, obtained with a wind more favorable than the Slovenian. If at home in Lillehammer she had been unreachable, as soon as the context changed she was vulnerable: Maren Lundby had to settle for fifth in Klingenthal, having been preceded by a good Sara Takanashi. The two biggest jumpers of all time could not jump in ideal conditions but they did not deviate from those faced by the duo Klinec-Althaus, so the month of December brings some interesting questions to the Japanese stages of the first part of January as there is a fair leveling of values in the field. Sixth coin for Daniela Iraschko-Stolz who, having closed the negative opening of the Norwegian opening, has returned to the positions that count. Like her also the landlady Juliane Seyfarth - seventh -, stubborn in turning after the first negative post vintage sensations of dreams. Eighth place for the solid Yuki Ito, having just preceded the young couple composed by Anna Shpyneva and the Norwegian Silje Opseth, respectively ninth and tenth. Eva Pinkelnig (11th) and Nika Kriznar (12th) joined the list of disappointments of the day, having found difficult winds beyond the mere fact of compensation. In general, however, there have been many female athletes who have had to complain about what they faced in a competition that went far beyond the limits of regularity: it is a species that has not opted to try to compete tomorrow as men will descend into track for the individual test and above all because weather forecasts give theoretically better conditions. At this confusion of conditions at the limit the Italians were not able to deal with it: in the end the best was the veteran Elena Runggaldier (32 ^) who preceded a point Manuela Malsiner (33 ^). Lara Malsiner, on the other hand, did not start because of an accent on an ankle problem that has haunted her from time to time for some time, the long pause that will lead to Japanese competitions after the Christmas holidays is fundamental. If in the World Cup Italy has for now collected a little less than what was expected on the eve, good signals have arrived from the Continental Cup in scene of these days in Notodden: in race one, with a bit of luck, Malsiner's younger sister won the first victory at cadet level. Jessica, who had already gained more hits during the summer, made the most of a snowfall that was getting thicker, slowing down the inrun channels to beat Thea BjÃ¸rseth, Sophie Sorschag and Lucile Morat. The Austrian and the Scandinavian took part in the second Norwegian test, capitalizing on the superiority shown so far, while the French raised some more doubts.
