This weekend in Lillehamer (Nor) opened the World Cup of Women's Special Jump 2018-19.

In the first of the three scheduled competitions, Juliane Seyfarth's surprise victory came. The German, first halfway through the race, in the second jump was defended by the overwhelming comeback of two champions of the discipline: Maren Lundby and Sara Takanashi, who closed respectively in 2nd and 3rd place. Fourth position instead for the most quoted of the Germans, Katharina Althaus, six distance away from the podium. Good evidence of the two blue guys in Norway: Lara Malsiner finished 16th, Elena Runggaldier 18th.
The second race of the weekend also gave us great surprises. In fact, it was the young Russian Lidiia Iakovleva, class 2001 and the first success in the World Cup career. Instead, it was necessary to settle for another place of honor Maren Lundby, a distance of 4.9 points from the winner. On the lowest step of the podium went the Slovenian Ema Klinec, able to leave behind the German Katharina Althaus 4a and Juliane Seyfarth 5a. She was disqualified in the first series for uneven suits Sara Takanashi. Lara Malsiner, 9th mid-race, closed 14th; Elena Runggaldier 28a also hit the points.
In the third competition, which took place on Sundays on the Large Hill of the Norwegian locality, the winner was the German Katharina Althaus, who also won the Lillehammer Triple and the general's bib number. The Pyeongchang Olympic silver preceded the compatriot Ramona Straub by 12 points and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz 13 lengths. The Austrian Eva Pinkelnig 4a ended up at the foot of the podium, and the Russian Alexandra Kustova and Lidiia Iakovleva, respectively 5th and 6th. They closed behind Sara Takanashi 11a and Maren Lundby 22a. Among the blue, Elena Runggaldier entered the points area, finishing 21st, but was disqualified for irregular suits during yesterday's qualifying Lara Malsiner.
Next week the World Cup will stop at Titisee-Neustadt in Germany, where an individual competition will take place on Large Hill.
