Karl Geiger is the second individual race of the men's jumping season, which took place in Hinterzarten for a stage, albeit deserted by many big names after the opening of Wisla, which gave several hints in this Summer Grand Prix 2019. Geiger preceded by just 4 tenths a rediscovered Gregor Schlierenzauer, in the lead after the first jump and overtaken by his Bavarian rival, with half a meter less in size and a slightly unfavorable compensation to the Tyrolean ace. Third place with 5 points from the head for another Teutonic, Richard Freitag (while he was disappointed by one of the big favorites, Markus Eisenbichler, only 21st), which preceded a rebounding Peter Prevc, able to seize 4th place after â€œturning "In 15th place. Closes the top five Ziga Jelar, the Slovenian who had the best qualifying score. No qualification for the decisive jump in Italy, with Alex Insam closing 45th and Federico Cecon 50th. In this way, Geiger also leads the Summer Grand Prix (Hinterzarten lacked the three podium climbs of Wisla, namely Zajc, Kubacki and Klimov) with 140 points, ahead of Zajc himself, standing at 100 and Schlierenzauer with 86 lengths. Next stop? There will be a break on the first weekend of August, a recovery scheduled from 8 to 10 August in Courchevel, where women will also compete with an individual test.
