Granerud is also confirmed in Nizhny Tagil and flies to the top of the general classification of the World Cup

The Norwegian is experiencing his magic moment and, after taking his first World Cup victory last week in Ruka, at Nizhny Tagil he obtained a double, taking advantage of some favorable episodes, which allowed him to go to the command of the general classification .

The script for race 1 followed that of Ruka's second round, with Eisenbichler phenomenal in the first series, which ended with a large margin over Granerud, but then struggled in the decisive act. In this case the German in the second jump ran into a vacuum of wind, which made him land at 80 m and slide from first to 28th place. The 24-year-old Norwegian, solid in both series, thus obtained the victory preceding the returning Daniel Huber (on the second podium in as many races this season) and his compatriot Johansson, author of the new record of the springboard with 142.5 m. Here the result of race 1! In the early afternoon of Sunday the starting field, already devoid of the best Austrians, the big Poles, Karl Geiger (who will soon become a father) and some nations such as the Czech Republic was further reduced due to new positives at Covid-19. Once again, Austria paid the price, with four positive athletes, including Daniel Huber, as well as race director Sandro Pertile. In race 2 there was therefore a domination of Norway, which took the third hat-trick in its history in the World Cup. Once again the best was Granerud who, after finishing second in the first series, limited the damage in the second jump, thus managing to overtake Johansson by only eight tenths. Marius Lindvik, on the other hand, placed himself on the lowest step of the podium, returning to good levels in Russia after a very complicated start to the season. Markus Eisenbichler had to sit at the foot of the podium, recovering from 7th place in the middle of the race. The German is now paying 67 points behind the leader of the general classification Granerud. Here the result of race 2! Next week the Jumping World Cup will take a break, making way for the World Flight Championships in Planica, and will return to the scene on 19 and 20 December in the classic pre-Christmas and pre-tour stage of Engelberg (Sui).
