At exactly one month since the beginning of the World Cup, the Austrian twenty-two was forced to stop the preparation and observe a forced rest period due to an injury that affected his left ankle.

The injury occurred in Cyprus, Austria's retirement venue, during a racing training session on the stairs. After the first medical examinations it seems to be a stretch of ankle ligaments, the recovery times are still unknown, fundamental to understanding whether Hayböck may be on the way to World Cup opener in Wisla (Pol) from 17 to 19 November. According to Orf.at, the athlete will remain with the team in Cyprus where he has already started physiotherapy sessions.
