After the first two stages of the season between Nizhny Tagil (Rus) and Ruka (Fin), the Men's Ski Jumping World Cup landed in Poland, in Wisla, where qualification for Sunday's race took place this afternoon. Tomorrow, however, weather permitting, the first team test of the season is scheduled. Absent the blues.

In fact, Italy preferred to desert the Polish trip to continue training in view of the next seasonal appointments. Also absent Ryoyu Kobayashi, stopped by Covid-19 just before Race 2 in Ruka and still in quarantine in the Finnish town. The Japanese could return to the race, only after a negative buffer, next week in Klingenthal.
In a day with a few jolts, the best of the qualification was the Austrian Jan Hoerl, who reached 129 m, and was able to burn an excellent Karl Geiger, author of the longest measure of the day with 134 m, by just one point. Third to 1.1 points from the top the Norwegian Lindvik, fourth Pius Paschke. Instead, Halvor Egner Granerud, in search of technical stability, struggled but still passed the cut, Markus Eisenbichler and Stefan Kraft.
Tomorrow at 16:30 the first series of the team test is scheduled which, in light of today's results, sees Germany as favorites over Slovenia and Austria. Poland is calling for redemption, which today received positive responses from the national group. The individual competition is scheduled for Sunday.
